P1441 CHEVROLET EVAP System Flow During Non-Purge Condition

Possible causes
– Faulty EVAP canister purge solenoid
– Faulty Fuel Tank Pressure (FTP) sensor
When is the code detected?
The Powertrain Control Module (PCM) has detected vacuum flow to the Fuel Tank Pressure (FTP) sensor during a system sealed condition.
Symptoms
– Engine Light ON (or Service Engine Soon Warning Light)
– Possible a noticeable fuel odor caused by the release of fuel vapors
P1441 CHEVROLET Description
The Powertrain Control Module (PCM) monitors the amount of vacuum/pressure in the EVAP system by monitoring the fuel tank pressure sensor signal. The PCM seals the EVAP system by commanding the EVAP Purge Solenoid OFF and the EVAP vent valve ON. The PCM monitors the fuel tank pressure sensor in order to determine if the EVAP Purge Solenoid is leaking vacuum to the EVAP system.
